RAJ ALLOY HF – I

RAJ ALLOY HF – I

DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONS: RAJ ALLOY HF-I is a medium coated rutile type hardfacing electrode. Weld deposit is an air hardening type carbon-chromium alloy, which has high degree of toughness and excellent resistance to rolling and sliding friction and heavy impact. Weld metal is machinable. The electrode gives a soft and stable arc which is easy to strike and restrike, good slag detachability and smooth, regular weld bead. The electrode can be operated in all conventional positions. Important applications are gear teeth, railends and crossing, shaft, mill guide plates, pulley clutches, wheel, axles, couplings, sprockets pinion etc.

Precautions:

  • Store the electrode in dry place. Redry the electrode at 150ºC before use.
  • Use short arc.
  • In order to obtain proper build-up, welding currents should not be too high.
  • If the carbon content in material is above 0.30%, apply buffer layer with Starlet-16 or Superlet-18 electrode.
