DESCRIPTION: A specially designed cellulose type medium coated electrode for pipe welding, which has increased deposition rate in both ‘Stove Pipe’ and conventional welding technique. Superb weld pool control, deep penetration, low spatter, smooth arc characterized with less volume fast freezing, easily removable slag are unique features.
APPLICATIONS: For welding of high strength pipelines and pipe steel. Suitable for use in root, capping and filling runs in API 5LX52 to 5LX60 grade pipelines, used for transmission of oil, gas etc.
Precautions:
- Use dry electrodes. Electrodes slightly affected by moisture should be carefully dried at temp 80°C before use.
- Use DC + Polarity and employ welding currents within the range recommended. Welding with excessive current results in increased spatter and undercut. Furthermore it adversely effects the quality of weld metal.
- Remove oil, grease and rust from parent metal.
