RK - 2000
(High deposition radiographic quality weld deposit)
DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONS: RK – 2000 is a super heavy coated iron powder type electrode having very high deposition efficiency approximate 140%. The electrode exhibits pleasing burning characteristics with very low spatter loss and out standing quality of bead finish in butt and fillet welds. The electrodes find extensive use where high productivity is required. High speed welding is possible with high current. RK – 2000 is ideally suited for welding of mild steel sections butt & fillet joints in flat & horizontal position, thick plates, heavy structures of cement plant & steel plant, cranes, penstocks, ship building, earth moving equipments, pressure vessels, heavy machine parts etc.
Precautions:
- Use dry electrodes. Electrodes slightly affected by moisture should be carefully dried at temp 90°C before use.
- Maintain short arc and employ welding currents within the range recommended. Welding with excessive current results in increased spatter, undercut and uneven slag covering. Furthermore it adversely effects the quality of weld metal
- Remove oil, grease, dust and rust from parent metal.
